JOB DESCRIPTION – On-Call Librarian
Salary is minimum wage, approximately 100-120 hours per year.
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
Under the general direction of the Director
Administers, plans, and directs the overall operations and functions of the library in the absence of the Director.
This position will assist with general Library operations during periods of leave by the Director.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
Checks material and equipment in and out; answers telephone inquiries, takes messages as needed; help patrons find materials and information; registers new patrons. Empties the book return.
Keeps accurate records of hours of service, on forms provided by the library for payroll purposes.
Performs such other duties as may be assigned to maintain the proper function of the library.
EDUCATION: Must have at least a High School diploma or GED.
KNOWLEDGE OF:
Knowledge of office practices, procedures and methods.
Must be familiar with the use of computers and other general office machines.
Must be familiar with Excel and Word.
Must be able to communicate well.
Function independently during absence of the Director.
